Janus | Expressive Figurative Mixed Media Art Print
€39.00
JANUS
Two ways of seeing, held within a single gaze.
Janus is an expressive figurative art print built around two strikingly different eyes within the same face. One meets the viewer wide open and exposed, while the other remains partially narrowed, creating an immediate tension between openness and reserve, sensitivity and discernment.
Warm flesh tones, rust and earthy browns are interrupted by intense blue, turquoise, black and traces of metallic gold. Broad brushstrokes and irregular layers remain clearly visible across the skin, allowing the face to shift between recognisable portraiture and raw painted surface.
The asymmetry of the gaze gives Janus its particular intensity. Rather than resolving its opposing qualities, the work allows them to coexist — two perspectives, two responses, two ways of encountering the same world within a single presence.

Your print is created on demand after you place your order. This means that production may take a little longer, but it also allows us to avoid unnecessary stock and reduce overproduction.
Thank you for choosing a more thoughtful way of bringing art into your home.
Each print preserves the expressive brushwork, saturated colour and layered surface of the original artwork, allowing the subtle differences between the two eyes and the tactile character of the painted face to remain beautifully visible in reproduction.
Please note: colours may vary slightly depending on your screen and the production location.
